The Iowa Barnstormers (7-6) take on the Massachusetts Pirates (9-4) on Saturday, July 2 at Wells Fargo Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:05PM.
The Pirates travel to Des Moines following a 69-55 victory over the Sioux Falls Storm (7-7). The Pirates never trailed in that game and were carried behind QB Taz Wilson's nine touchdowns.
The Barnstormers come into Saturday's matchup following a 49-30 victory over the Bismarck Bucks (3-12). The first quarter was neck-and-neck with multiple lead changes, but Iowa was able to end the second quarter on a run and led the remainder of the game.
This will be the second matchup between Iowa and Massachusetts this season. Game one resulted in a 36-22 victory for the Pirates. Though the Barnstormers started with a 10-0 lead, their offense struggled to score the remainder of the game. Their first score of the second half came with just 12 seconds left in the game and they were unable to get the win on the road.
