Iowa Barnstormers News Release

After a pair of home games in a row to start off the first part of the season, the Iowa Barnstormers will travel to Tucson for a matchup against some familiar foes.

The team will face the Tucson Sugar Skulls (8:05 p.m. CT) on the road this Saturday for its second game away from Wells Fargo Arena this season.

The Sugar Skulls are coached by former Barnstormers HC, Dixie Wooten, and feature a multitude of players that previously played in Iowa including Ryan Balentine, Jazeric Peterson, Brandon Haskin and Sheldon Augustine.

Iowa has started off the year with a 2-1 record. The team won its first and only road game of the season to date during the season opener against Sioux Falls, beating the defending league champions 56-36.

After splitting the homestand with Duke City and Bismarck, Iowa hopes to start a winning streak by taking a victory on Saturday.

The Barnstormers are led by defending IFL MVP Daquan Neal - who currently leads the league with five rushing touchdowns over the first three games.

Receiver Drew Mahoney is also putting the league on notice, catching four touchdowns on the year, good for second in the league.

Kicker Nathan Criswell comes into the game after receiving IFL Player of the Week honors during the team's win last week over Bismarck. Criswell help sealed the game with a converted onside kick to Connor Hollenbeck in the closing minute, securing the home victory for Iowa.

Fans interested in watching the game can do so by visiting the Chicken Coop (5906 Ashworth Rd, West Des Moines) for the team's official watch party. If not, the game will be available streaming nation wide on YouTube.com on the IFL's official YouTube channel.
