Team Scope:

PENSACOLA - The Ice Flyers are currently riding a 2-game win streak after their win last week against Louisiana and a 3-0 win over the Columbus Cottonmouths on Friday in what was goalie Steve Christie's second shutout in 5 games. The Ice Flyers have now won their past 4 home games while outscoring their opponents 19-4. The Ice Flyers now own a record of 7-7-2.

Steve Christie continues to be strong in net for the Flyers. He now has a record of 4-1-0 with two shutouts, 1.58 goals against average, and a 0.940 save percentage. Adam Ward has a 3-6-1, a 3.52 GAA, and a .875 SV%. Jordan Chong leads the team in scoring with 16 points and Dan Buccella is right behind him with 15. Chong and Buccella are tied along with Matthew Robertson and Mike Carter for the team lead in goals as all of them have 7 a piece. Chong leads the team with 9 assists while Buccella has 8.

Chong is coming into the weekend with 6 points in 4 games, while Buccella and Tyler Soehner has 5 in 4 games. Soehner also leads the team in scoring among defensemen with 8 points.

Thursday's game against the Louisiana IceGators will kick-off what will seem like déjà vu as, just like last week, the Ice Flyers will head to Lafayette before returning home on Friday to host the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:05 PM

LOUISIANA - The IceGators played a couple of one goal games last weekend as they lost at home 5-4 in a shootout against the Ice Flyers on Thursday night and then beat the Huntsville Havoc 6-5 two days later in Huntsville. Louisiana now possesses a 10-7-2 record.

The IceGators have Dan Earles manning the pipes, as Kevin Beech, who had the lost versus the Ice Flyers last week, was placed on waivers Tuesday. Earles now clearly has locked down the #1 spot with a record of 4-1-0, a 2.89 GAA, and a 0.886 SV%. The IceGators are lead by Jason Hill who has 32 points in 17 games. In the goals department the Gators are led by veteran Shawn McNeil and Brayden Metz who both have 13. Not surprisingly, Hill leads the team in assists with 23.

Coming into the Thursday contest, Hill and Metz both have 9 points in 5 games, and McNeil has 6 in 5,

Following their game with the Ice Flyers, Louisiana will head to Southaven, MS to take on the Mississippi RiverKings on Friday.
