February 29, 2012- Who:Green Bay Blizzard (0-1) at Reading Express (0-1)

Where:Sovereign Center - Reading, PA

Blizzard Update: Green Bay dropped its season opener last week in Sioux Falls. The Storm are a veteran team and played like it during the first game of the season. The Blizzard offense was led by new quarterback Donovan Porterie and wide receiver Desmond Tardy. Porterie completed 13 of his 26 passing attempts for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Tardy caught two of the touchdowns from Porterie. Head Coach Robert Fuller featured new running back La'Ron Council with 16 carries for 31 yards and a touchdown. Greg Jackson led the Blizzard defense with 10 tackles, including two for a loss.

Express Update: The Express hired Mark Steinmeyer as its new Head Coach for the 2012 season. Steinmeyer is entering his fifth season with the Express, last season he served as the Defensive Coordinator. Reading lost its season opener in Bloomington 54-40. The Edge scored three straight touchdowns in the first quarter and jumped out to a 21-3 lead and never looked back. Quarterback A.J. McKenna made his debut for the Express. He threw for three touchdowns and ran for another. Wide Receiver Joshua Floyd had a strong game with four receptions for 53 yards and two touchdowns. Floyd also returned a kickoff 57 yards for a touchdown.

Series: Green Bay leads the series 3-0. The two teams faced each other twice during the regular season in 2011 and once in the playoffs. All of the games were played at the Resch Center in Green Bay. The Blizzard topped the Express 62-19 on April 15, 72-40 on May 21 and 68-51 on June 25.

Stats:Reading quarterback A.J. McKenna also likes to run the ball from the quarterback position. Last week, he rushed 12 times for 55 yards and one touchdown. Blizzard quarterback Donovan Porterie had three rushing attempts last week, two went for touchdowns.
