Allen, Texas - Despite a rough overnight of winter weather activity, tonight's Central Hockey League showdown between the Allen Americans and Rapid City Rush is on as planned.
Puck drop is set for 7:05 pm at Allen Event Center.
The Allen Americans are three points behind the top-seeded Rush coming into tonight's contest. Allen has won two games in a row with back to back wins over Arizona last weekend.
"This is a big weekend for us," said Americans defenseman Daniel Tetrault on the Americans Radio Show on Tuesday night at Allen Wickers Pub in Plano. "Rapid City is off to a great start this season and has some top talent. It will be a good test for us."
Allen is 6-7-2 lifetime against Rapid City, including a CHL Finals matchup between the two clubs in the Americans inaugural season of 2009-2010.
The Americans are led in scoring by rookie forward Alex Lavoie, who has 29 points in 19 games for Allen.
Rapid City is led by forwards Konrad Reeder and Jesse Schultz, with 25 and 24 points respectively, as well as the Goalie of the Month in the Central Hockey League for November, Tim Boron, who has a record of 13-2-0.
