Seattle Sounders FC News Release
Sounders FC begins its 11th consecutive postseason campaign this week, entering the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs as the second seed in the Western Conference. The Rave Green are set for a First Round matchup with seventh-place FC Dallas on Saturday, October 19 at CenturyLink Field (12:30 p.m. PT / FS1, FOX Deportes, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
Saturday's match is being broadcast nationally on FS1 and regionally on YouTube TV, featuring Jon Strong, Stu Holden and Katie Witham on the call. A Spanish-language national broadcast is available on FOX Deportes, with Alejandro Luna on handling play-by-play and Martin Zuniga on analyst duties.
Sports Radio 950 KJR AM is airing the contest, with Matt Johnson and Kasey Keller providing the commentary, as well as Jackson Felts, Wade Webber and Steve Zakuani on pre-match, halftime and post-match coverage. Fans in Western Washington can tune in to El Rey 1360 AM for a Spanish radio broadcast, featuring "Zuper" Mario Rodriguez, Felipe Maqueda and Carlos Tapia.
Seattle is 2-2-2 all-time against FC Dallas in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs - including 2-0-1 record at CenturyLink Field - with the Rave Green advancing in two of the three postseason matchups. Sounders FC owns a 12-7-7 mark in the regular season against Dallas (9-1-2 at home). Including postseason, the Rave Green have lost just once in 15 meetings at CenturyLink Field (11-1-3), with the lone loss coming in May of 2011.
Should Sounders FC advance, it would face the winner of Real Salt Lake and the Portland Timbers next week in the Western Conference Semifinals. By clinching the second seed in the West on Decision Day, Seattle is guaranteed homefield advantage up until the Western Conference Championship.
