SAFC will play their first match this Saturday since August 8. With the 2-1 road win in RGV that night, SAFC has now won four of its last six matches, including three on the road. The streak has improved the overall record to 6-5-6 on the season with 24 points compiled. In the first 11 matches of 2021, SAFC went 2-3-6, scoring 13 goals and conceding 13 goals. In the six matches since, SAFC is 4-2-0, scoring 12 goals and conceding seven overall.

USL Regular Season Appearance Leader

SAFC goalkeeper Matthew Cardone is now the all-time USL regular season appearance holder for SAFC. Cardone currently sits at 94 USL matches, one playoff match and three Open Cup matches, giving him 98 total appearances for the club. Should he start every match, Cardone would be scheduled to make his 100th appearance on 9/1/21 vs. Real Monarchs at Toyota Field, making him the second SAFC player to ever achieve that record. The San Antonio native trails only former SAFC defender Greg Cochrane in all-time appearances for the club. Cochrane amassed 102 appearances and 8,850 minutes in three seasons with the club in all competitions from 2016-18.
