Saginaw Spirit News Release
Saginaw, MI. - The Saginaw Spirit (22-11-2-2 48 pts.) look for their fifth-straight home victory Sunday, January 5 as they continue a three-game home stand against the West Division rival Sarnia Sting (15-19-4-0 34 pts.) for the fourth meeting of the season. Puck drop from the Wendler Arena inside The Dow Event Center starts at 5:30 p.m.
The Spirit have taken the first three games against the Sting this season and have outscored Sarnia, 25-15. Saginaw set a team-record earlier this season against Sarnia after they scored 11 goals in one game.
Fans will have the opportunity to skate with the Saginaw Spirit players following the game against the Sting and are encouraged to bring their ice skates to the arena. The Spirit are selling $6 Covenant Kids tickets for kids 12 years old and under for today's game.
Fans can catch the action on the flagship WSGW Newsradio 100.5 FM and www.wsgw.com with Art Lewis and the voice of Saginaw Spirit hockey Joey Battaino on the call. "Countdown to Face-off" with host Charley Porter begins 15 minutes prior to puck drop.

The Spirit broke out of their recent power play woes with three goals on four man-power advantages against the Generals.
New York Islanders prospect Cole Coskey became just the seventh Saginaw Spirit player to reach the 200-point plateau after his three-point effort Saturday against Oshawa. The six Spirit players to reach 200 points are franchise-leading scorer Ryan McDonough (247), Vincent Trocheck (240), Jack Combs (229), Josh Shalla (213), Jordan Szwarz (204), and Tom Pyatt (200).
