Game Day: Gens vs Frontenacs
Published on March 7, 2018 under Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Oshawa Generals News Release
Tonight, the Oshawa Generals welcome division rival Kingston Frontenacs to town for the sixth meeting in the last two months. This marks the second to last game between the two clubs and the Generals will be looking to turn their fortunes against their formidable foe who hold a 5-1-0-0 season series advantage.
Starting tonight, the Generals kick off the final two weeks of the regular season where they will be home for four of their final six games. It is a scenario which could benefit the Gens as they still have home ice advantage in their sights after clinching their spot in the 2018 OHL playoffs last Friday with their win against the Kitchener Rangers. Entering today's game, they are only one point behind Niagara who holds the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference and will have to contend with North Bay and Ottawa who are also in hot pursuit. Since their last meeting with the Frontenacs, Oshawa has gone 7-3-0-0 while Kingston has a 5-4-2-0 record. Through the Gennies six-game win streak, they were able to achieve success in a variety of manners from dominating shutout wins against the Wolves and Spirit to withstanding the Battalion and Steelheads' late comeback by rallying for thrilling victories and overcoming a two-goal deficit against the Rangers to continue their streak. It's that adversity and perseverance in which the Gens can build off as they look to end their three-game losing streak against Kingston and get back in the win column. Oshawa will lean on players such as Domenico Commisso, Matt Brassard, and Allan McShane who have been able to find success against the Fronts this season.
This evening's game is presented by Goodlife Fitness! Be sure to stop by their table on the concourse for information on their facilities and fitness offerings and look for their Sumo Suit Challenge at first intermission!
