HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs hopes of securing 1st place in the Eastern Conference will have to wait at least one more night after a 6-3 loss to the Barrie Colts Wednesday night at FirstOntario Centre.

The visiting Colts got the jump on the Bulldogs early and that led to several chances followed by back-to-back goals 49-seconds apart and a 2-0 lead after twenty minutes.

Barrie went up 3-0 early in the 2nd period before the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard at 13:57 as Robert Thomas (23) hammered one home to cut the lead to 3-1 after two periods.

The momentum continued for Hamilton in the 3rd as goals from Ryan Moore (18) at 0:51 and Isaac Nurse (16) tied the game at 3 with just over 8-minutes left. Penalties hurt the Bulldogs as back-to-back power-play goals by the Colts put an end to any hopes of a comeback as a 5-3 lead grew to 6-3 with a late empty net goal.

3 STARS:

1) Dmitry Sokolov (BAR) 2) Andrei Svechnikov (BAR) 3) Lucas Chiodo (BAR)
