Game Day: Anchorage Wolverines vs. Chippewa Steel

The Anchorage Wolverines will face off against the Chippewa Steel for the first time since their December 29th and 30th series where Anchorage swept Chippewa with a 4-3 and a 7-2 victory.

The two teams sit in close proximity on the Midwest Division leaderboard, with Anchorage in third place and Chippewa trailing closely behind in fifth.

Chippewa is coming off of a two weekend sweep, beating the Minnesota Wilderness and then the Kenai River Brown Bears the following weekend.

The Wolverines have not been as lucky, losing two of two games last weekend against the Wisconsin Windigo.

There will be two new skaters on the ice tonight for the Wolverines, Arvega Hovsepyan and Timothy Kim. Hovsepyan is coming from the BCHL where he most recently was rostered with the Surrey Eagles. Hovsepyan played in 31 games for the Eagles and bagged nine goals and nine assists for 18 points.

Kim also saw time in the BCHL, recording games with the Victoria Grizzlies and the Merritt Centennials. Kim has most recently been rostered with the Provo Predators of the NCDC, where he has seen eight games and has put up two goals and eight assists.
