SHV broke the ice on the PP in the second as Liam Fleet flipped in his third tally of the year from the top right circle to give the Bugs a 1-0 lead at 8:25. Nick Marino and Brayden Cook earned the assists. Shreveport would extend their lead at 11:03 as Marino smacked in a rebound in front for his 15th goal of the year to make it a 2-0. The Bugs poured it on in the third which started at 5:21 when Ryan Burke stayed with a puck in front of the net and roofed in his 17th of the year and extended his point scoring streak to eight games to increase the lead to 3-0. Colin Vassallo and Lucas Deeb picked up the assists. SHV kept it going as at 8:21 it was Deeb poking in the rebound in the goal mouth for his 14th tally of the campaign making it a 4-0 contest. Wil Murphy and Seth Murch earned the helpers there. After that, Carter McKay stole a puck and fired home his fourth tally of the year on a breakaway pushing the advantage to 5-0 at 11:30. The only thing which spoiled the Bugs night was Troy Pelton who scored on Nikola Goich at 18:18 ending his shutout bid.
Goich made 22 stops to pick up his sixth win and help SHV earn their seventh straight overall victory.
