Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Max Gamboa enjoyed his Saturday night, as he punched out a career-high 11 hitters, getting the win in Rancho Cucamonga's 3-1 victory over the Lancaster JetHawks at LoanMart Field.

A sold-out crowd of over 4,700 saw Gamboa (2-1) enjoy his finest start as a Quake, as he allowed just one run on four hits, while fanning 11 hitters against one walk over six innings.

Cristian Santana smashed a two-run homer, his team-leading 20th of the year, giving the Quakes the lead for good in the third, as the Quakes took a 2-1 advantage against Lancaster starter Matt Dennis (7-12).

That lead held until the seventh, when Rancho got a run thanks to a bases-loaded walk to Cody Thomas, forcing home Nick Yarnall to make it 3-1.

The Quakes' bullpen was stellar on Saturday, as Ryan Moseley worked two scoreless frames, before Sven Schueller worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his first save of the year.

Rancho (70-49, 35-14) will look for a three-game sweep at 2:05pm on Sunday, sending lefty Leo Crawford (4-0) to the mound against Lancaster's Brandon Gold (9-6).

On Sunday, the Quakes will become Los Temblores de Rancho Cucamonga with hispanic-themed fun, music and food! Kids will also Run The Bases after the game, thanks to Smile Generation. Tickets to the game are available online at rcquakes.com or by calling (909) 481-5000. Go Quakes!
