Gamblers Select a Dozen in 2010 USHL Entry Draft

(Green Bay, WI) - The Green Bay Gambles selected 12 players in the 2010 USHL Entry Draft that took place on Wednesday.

With their first pick in the 2010 United States Hockey League Entry Draft the Green Bay Gamblers selected forward David Goodwin with the 25th overall pick. Goodwin led the St. Louis Amateur Blues this past year, registering 31 goals and 40 assists in 47 games.

Along with Goodwin the Gamblers also selected the following players:

Nolan LaPorte - Forward/Team Illinois Midget Major

Tanner Sorenson - Forward/Shattuck St. Mary's

Mitch Witek - Defense/Team Illinois Midget Major

Sam Herr - Defense/Chicago Mission Midget Major

Josef Pontasch - Forward/Belle Tire Midget Major

Brandon Kirk - Defense/Colorado Rampage Midget Major

Derek Frowley - Forward/Minnetonka H.S.

Christopher Eick - Forward/St. Louis Bandits NAHL

Connor Schmidt - Defense/Little Caesars Midget Major

Christian Lampasso - Forward/Honeybaked Midget Minor

Kyle Novak - Forward/St. Louis Amateur Blues Midget Major

The Gamblers stayed local with the selection of Christopher Eick, who hails from Appleton. Eick played this past season in the North American Hockey League with the St. Louis Bandits.

The players selected in the USHL Futures and Entry Drafts along with Gamblers veterans, and free agents will partake in the main camp in Green Bay June 18 - 23.
