G-Reds End Home Slide with 6-0 Victory

GREENEVILLE, TN - The Greeneville Reds (7-13) snapped their seven game home losing streak with a 6-0 win over the Kingsport Mets (8-12) Monday night at Pioneer Park. Four pitchers combined to toss a four hit shutout, the Reds third shut- out of the year.

The Reds got off to a hot start with a four run first. LHP Christofer Dominguez (L, 1-1) hit Danielito Remy to leadoff the inning. Tyler Callihan came on to pinch run and moved to second when Danny Lantigua reached on an error. Allan Cerda followed with a single to load the bases.

Cristian Olivo reached on a fielder's choice to second, scoring Callihan from third. Lantigua scored from second on the play as Sebastian Espino over threw first trying to complete a double play. Back-to-back RBI singles from Cameron Warren and Garrett Wolforth extended the lead to 4-0.

Warren hit a one-out single off Dominguez in the third, stole second, and moved to third on Wolforth's single. Warren scored on Robert Boselli's sacrifice fly to run the lead to 5-0. Lantigua drew a lead off walk in the seventh, advanced to third after back-to-back ground outs, and scored on Warren's RBI-single.

RHP JC Keys started the game for the Reds, he allowed two hits and walked three over three scoreless innings. Keys also struck out a career-high six. LHP Alec Byrd (W, 2-0) earned the win in relief. He allowed a hit and walked one over three scoreless with three strikeouts. RHP Raul Wallace struck out three and allowed a hit over two scoreless innings. RHP Matt Gill worked a perfect ninth with a strikeout.

The Reds are off Tuesday and begin a three game series in Danville on Wednesday. LHP Jose Salvador (0-3, 7.47) will start the opener at Dan Daniel Memorial Park with first pitch coming at 6:30.
