Fury Set for National Television Debut on NBC

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League are preparing for their national television debut, when they host the Dallas Desperados on Sunday, February 23 at 3 p.m. at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The game will be NBC's featured game of the week, as lead commentators Tom Hammond (play-by-play), Pat Haden (color) and Lewis Johnson (sideline) will be calling the action.

The game on Sunday will be broadcast to NBC's national audience, and the game will be the Fury's first game on NBC this season. Four of the Fury's 16 games have been schedule to be nationally televised on NBC in 2003.

This Sunday's game will pit many Fury players, including quarterback Andy Kelly, against their former team, the Dallas Desperados. Kelly, WR/DB Jason Kaiser, OL/DL Matt Norwood and Fury offensive coordinator Tom Luginbill were all members of the 2002 Desperados' inaugural season, helping lead Dallas into the second round of the ArenaBowl playoffs.

The Fury will be practicing at the following times at the Shelby Soccer City in Utica:
Wednesday, February 19 - 8:00-10:00 a.m.
Thursday, February 20 - 8:00-9:15 a.m.
Friday, February 21 - 8:00-9:00 a.m.

All players and coaches will be available immediately following practice for interviews, but other requests can be made by calling the Fury's Communications Manager, Jason Miller, at (248) 377-8704.

The Fury (2-1) are currently tied for first place in the Eastern Division and continue their run for ArenaBowl XVII this Sunday, February 23, 2003.
