NEW YORK – Los Angeles offensive specialist CHRIS JACKSON, Indiana Firebirds defensive specialist DONNIE CALDWELL and Grand Rapids Rampage wide receiver/linebacker RICKY ROSS have been named Offensive Player, ADT Defensive Player and Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 3 of the 2003 season.

Jackson (6-2, 204, Washington State), in his fourth AFL season, hauled in 10 receptions for 119 yards and three touchdowns, while adding a 5-yard touchdown strike to KEVIN INGRAM in the Avengers' 59-53 overtime-victory against the Colorado Crush on Sunday. The former Cougar has 11 touchdowns this season and is currently No. 2 in the AFL in scoring (66 points). This marks the third time Jackson has earned an AFL weekly honor.

Caldwell (6-0, 185, Western Illinois), a second-year defensive specialist, led one of the AFL's top defensive units by recording 4.5 total tackles, an interception and breaking up four other passes in the Firebirds' 28-23 victory over Central Division rival Chicago Rush on Sunday. Caldwell, who was named the game's MVP, and the Firebirds held the Rush to 23 points, while giving up 236 yards. This marks the first time Caldwell has garnered an AFL weekly honor.

Ross (6-0, 185, Missouri), a third-year AFL veteran, led the Rampage on both sides of the ball during their 66-63 victory over the New York Dragons on Sunday. The former Tiger, who was named Ironman of the Game, returned two kickoffs for touchdowns (57 and 56 yards), becoming the first Rampage player to do so in a game. Ross returned a total of five kickoffs for 197 yards, added two catches for 19 yards, registered five tackles and forced a crucial fumble late in the third quarter. This marks the first time that Ross has earned an AFL weekly honor.

Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Buffalo's Jeff Loots, Colorado's John Dutton and Damian Harrell, Detroit's Marcus Nash, Georgia's James Brown, Los Angeles' Tony Graziani, New York's Aaron Garcia and Steve Papin; and Orlando's Jay Gruden.

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Buffalo's Dwaine Carpenter, Carolina's Derek Stingley, Dallas' Shante Carver, Grand Rapids' Israel Raybon, Las Vegas' Jeroid Johnson and San Jose's Clevan Thomas.

Ironman of the Week candidates included: Buffalo's Cornelius White, Colorado's Charlie Davidson, Detroit's Ty Grovesteen, Georgia's Jarrick Hillery, Indiana's Evan Hlavacek, Las Vegas' Sedrick Robinson and Orlando's Cory Fleming.
