Ontario, California - The Ontario Fury rallied from a three-goal deficit in the fourth quarter, then needed overtime to outlast the San Diego Sockers in a preseason game Nov. 10 at Toyota Arena.

Ontario led San Diego 3-2 after the first quarter, then trailed 4-3 after 30 minutes. After tying the game 33 seconds into the third quarter, the Sockers ran off three straight goals in a span of 4:59, and held it through the end of three quarters.

In the fourth, the Fury began its rally. Justin Stinson volleyed in a pass from Edison Cardona just 2:17 in the quarter. Ontario then with less than six minutes remaining, the Fury took advantage of a pair of calls against the Sockers.

Backup goalkeeper Diego Angel Arriaga was whistled for handling the ball outside of his penalty area, giving the Fury a shootout attempt, which Franck Tayou was unable to convert. But on the ensuing power play, Slavisa Ubiparapovic was given a blue card for tripping, giving Ontario a two-man advantage for 1:24. Thirty-three seconds into the two-man advantage, Juan Carlos Gonzalez converted, pulling the Fury within one. Then, with 20 seconds left on Ubiparipovic's penalty, Gonzalez fed Stinson for the tying goal.

Ontario took the lead with 53 seconds remaining, as Tayou tapped a pass from Maicon de Abreu past Arriaga and off the post to give the Fury an 8-7 lead. But the Sockers, with an extra attacker on the field, pushed forward. Fury goaltender Claysson de Lima tried to clear the ball out of the corner, but had a shot come in as he was outside the box, and had the ball go off his hands with 4.7 seconds to go. Erick Tovar converted the shootout attempt with 1.5 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.

The extra period saw both teams get their chances, but it was on a counterattack that the Fury found the winner. Tayou sent the fans home happy, putting home a pass from Jesus Pacheco.

The Fury will open the season with a two-game road trip with stops at San Diego on Dec. 13 and against the Tacoma Stars on Dec. 15. Ontario will open the home portion of its schedule at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 with a rematch against the Stars at Toyota Arena.

Tickets for all Ontario Fury games are on sale now through the Fury's offices and at the Toyota Arena box office. Season Memberships and Group Tickets are also available through the Fury's offices by calling 909-457-0252.
