Lancers Announce Preseason Roster

Rochester Lancers News Release
Rochester, NY - The Rochester Lancers have announced their initial preseason roster today, in accordance with the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) roster limits. Beginning with the 2019-2020 regular season, each MASL team is restricted to 26 registered players. On game days, those rosters will be limited to an active roster of 14 field players and up to two goalkeepers.
The Lancers opened up training camp on October 6th with almost 40 participants attending. Head Coach, Doug Miller with his assistants Adam Schwartz, John Berardicurti and Marc Sotile have trimmed the roster down to 25 players all competing for a starting spot. Several former MASL, M2 and NPSL Lancers have returned for the 2019/20 season. The Lancers are also hoping for the return of 4 key senior college players that will join the team following their collegiate season. One former M2 player that is currently playing outside the country may join the team.
The Lancers 2019/20 Roster will comprise mostly of Rochester and Western, NY based players. Only 6 players have MASL experience (Ortiz, Boughton, Cunningham, Hantes, Crawford, Sotile). Several players also played for the Lancers M2 team last season reaching the semifinals (Rozzano, Osmic, Finn, Wright, Harling, Gerber and Demydiv).
The Lancers travel to Canada to play the MetroStars on November 22 and November 24 in St. Catherine's. Home opening weekend for the Lancers is November 29 and 30 where they will face Utica City on the 29th and Harrisburg Heat on the 30th. Both games kick off at 7PM at the New Dome Arena.
