Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, have acquired three players from the Seattle Impact in exchange for cash considerations, and to complete the offseason trade of Jeff Bader and Eli Gordley to Seattle.

The Fury have acquired forward Jamar Beasley, defender Corey Maret and a player to be determined as part of the transaction. The three players are expected to be in Southern California for this weekend's games against Turlock and Las Vegas. In a separate move, the Fury have signed former Impact goaltender Piotr Sliwa, who was released by Seattle earlier in the week. To make room for Sliwa on the roster, the Fury have assigned Ramon Torres to Toros Premier.

"We're excited that these players are going to be able to join us for the playoff stretch run," said Bernie Lilavois, the Fury's coach and president. "All of them should help us maintain our position in the standings, as we make a push to catch San Diego for the top spot in the division."

Beasley, the brother of United States Men's National Team star DeMarcus Beasley, was fourth on the Impact in scoring this season, with five goals and three assists in four games. He started the season with the St. Louis Ambush.

Maret was second on the Impact in points, scoring six goals and adding nine assists in the Impact's 13 games. Sliwa appeared in all 13 of the Impact's games this season, and posted a 3-9 record with a 10.62 goals against average and .586 save percentage.

Ontario returns to action this weekend with two important games in the Pacific Division race. The Fury will host third-place Turlock (only a half-game behind Ontario) at 7 p.m. Saturday night. The game will feature the Ladies of Ontario Fury Junior Dance Clinic participants performing at halftime. And on Sunday, Ontario will take on its bitter rivals, the Las Vegas Legends, in a 3 p.m. game. Sunday's game is "Kids Take Over CBBA" day, as students from across the region will shadow members of the Fury's game-day staff and help in the game day operations.
