Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release
Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers arena football team has initiated a memorial drive for the family of Orlando Predators' head coach Fran Papasedero, who was killed in an automobile accident two weeks ago in Orlando, Florida.
"Fran was a dear friend, and a credit to professional football," said Pioneers President/General Manager Dave Berryman. "Establishing this memorial fund is the least we can do to assist his family during this difficult time."
The Pioneers will conduct the fundraiser in the form of a raffle for two season tickets for the 2004 season and a team-autographed football. Tickets for the fundraiser can be purchased for as little as $5.00, and the team will announce a winner in early August.
All proceeds generated from the fund will be donated to Papasedero's two-year-old daughter, Vivian. Anyone interested in contributing to the fundraiser may contact the Pioneers' administrative office at (570) 970-4af2 or sign up directly at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's July 11th regular season home finale at the First Union Arena.
