Yakima Valley Pippins News Release

YAKIMA, Wash. - A pair of Cal State Fullerton-bound athletes are heading to Yakima this summer. Future Titans Brendon Davis and Nick Kaye will play for the Pippins this season, the club announced Wednesday.

Davis, a senior at Lakewood High School (Lakewood, CA). The shortstop was rated Perfect Game's 129th best player in the entire nation among class of 2015 prospects and was ranked 19th in the state of California.

"Brendon is one of the top high school shortstops in the country," said Pippins' Manager Marcus McKimmy. "At 6' 4" tall, he possesses an extremely athletic body and a ton of bat speed. The bat and the glove tool have a chance to be really special, but the intangibles he possesses that effect the game positively are what really sets him apart from the rest. He is committed to a great program in CS Fullerton, but it would not surprise me if the opportunity to play professional baseball is in his immediate future."

Kaye, an outfielder, is finishing up his career at Glendora High School. Glendora has produced a fair number of Titans, including former major leaguer Aaron Rowand.

"As another high school player, he will be challenged immediately by the quality pitching in the WCL," said McKimmy. "As a outfielder, he will provide much needed depth to our lineup and give us match up flexibility in our offense. The reviews I've received about Nick have been off the charts from his coaches as they project him to be a middle of the order hitter. I'm very excited to have Nick join our club, I'm sure the fans will, too."
