INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced Thursday that former Canisius College defenseman Doug Jessey signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Fuel. A native of Langdon, Alberta, Jessey served as captain of the Golden Griffins in 2014-15 and led Canisius to a semi-final appearance in the 2015 Atlantic Hockey Association Conference Tournament.
A 6'2", 212 lb. right-handed shooting blue-liner, Jessey posted 12 goals and 46 combined points, along with 135 total penalty minutes, in 152 career NCAA appearances for Canisius in four varsity seasons from 2011 to 2015. In three junior seasons with the AJHL's Drumheller Dragons and MJAHL's Woodstock Slammers from 2008 to 2011, Jessey posted 35 goals, 100 points and 256 penalty minutes in 160 combined appearances. Jessey will wear number 27 for the Fuel.
