Fort Worth Cats News Release
Thad Markray pitched a complete-game shutout of the Fort Worth Cats, leading the Sports to a 1-0 victory and fanning thirteen Cats along the way. Shad Williams was nearly as impressive until the ninth inning, when he allowed a leadoff home run to Joe Dusan that would figure as the only run in the game. Dusan's second homer of the year decided a terrific pitcher's duel that nearly saw both starters go the distance. Overshadowed in the loss was Fort Worth's Jeremy Smith, who had three of the Cats' five hits, including two doubles- Fort Worth's only extra-base hits off the dominant Markray. Dusan finished 2-for-4 as Shreveport moved into first place in the East.
