Frostbite fall to Trashers

DANBURY, CT - The Danbury Trashers scored three unanswered goals, including the game-winner with just 37.6 seconds left in the third period, to defeat the Adirondack Frostbite 4-3 on Sunday at Danbury Ice Arena.

Adirondack struck first, scoring a power-play goal 11:55 into the opening period. Hugo Belanger centered a pass in front for Kevin Watters, who was able to redirect a shot over the blocker pad of Sylvain Daigle for his 20th goal of the season.

Danbury came back to tie the game just 58 seconds later. Jeff Daw had the puck in the far corner, and centered a pass for David Hymovitz who beat Kris Tebbs through the five hole for his 17th of the year.

The Frostbite took the lead back 1:39 into the second period. Sylvain Cloutier carried the puck across the Trashers' blue line and beat Daigle with a quick snap shot for his 11th goal of the season.

Adirondack made it a two-goal advantage with a power-play goal at 15:15. Cloutier took a pass from Belanger in the right-wing circle and beat Daigle with a wrist shot to make it 3-1.

But, the Trashers pulled back within one in the final minute of the period. Dave MacIsaac gathered in the puck at the hash marks and beat Tebbs with a quick shot for a power-play goal, his fourth of the season.

Danbury tied the game 4:06 into the final period. Jean-Michel Daoust skated into the left-wing circle and beat Tebbs with a quick shot over the goaltender's left shoulder.

Daoust scored the go-ahead goal with 37.6 seconds left in the third period, as he got behind the Frostbite defense, and beat Kris Tebbs with a backhand shot.
