Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
South Burlington, VT. Fans will be able to follow the ABA Vermont Frost Heaves throughout the team's inaugural season thanks to an agreement between the ABA team and Nassau Broadcasting, owners of WSNO Raido, "Barre's Hometown Station."
Under the agreement, WSNO will originate play-by-play of all of the team's games, home and away, and Burlington's WJOY Radio, part of the Hall Communications Group, will pick up the broadcasts for listeners in Chittenden County.
"WSNO has shown a real commitment to broadcasting basketball in Central Vermont, and we're delighted to be partnering with a station with roots in the city that's home to "the Aud," said Frost Heaves president and general manager Alexander Wolff. "Our agreement allows for a call-in report from coach Will Voigt, as well as promotional initiatives across the stations of the Nassau and Hall radio groups. We're also excited about the prospect of offering live and archived audio streaming over the Web."
WSNO General Manager John Gales said, "We are thrilled to be the flagship station for the Vermont Frost Heaves. It's an exciting opportunity for us to bring locally based professional basketball to our listeners and to Frost Heaves fans. Vermonters can now hear and support our own professional level basketball team."
WSNO is heard on 1450 AM in Central Vermont. WJOY serves greater Burlington from 1230 AM. The Frost Heaves will split their 18 home games between Barre and Burlington when they begin play in November.
