Frontier League Tops Can-Am, 7-0
July 10, 2019 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
New York Boulders News Release
A four run third-inning was all the scoring needed as the Frontier League topped the Can-Am League, 7-0, in the All-Star Game presented by Good Samaritan Hospital at Palisades Credit Union Park.
Ten pitchers from the Frontier combined to keep the Can-Am in check, scattering just four hits for the shutout, with Tyler Gibson of the Florence Freedom earning the win.
After Washington Wild Things outfielder Hector Roa singled in the game's first run in the top of the third, Fernandez - also from Washington - crashed a three-run shot into the right-centerfield bleachers and the Frontier never looked back.
The host Rockland Boulders were well represented on the night, with John Brontsema, Ryne Birk, Adam Ehrlich, Nick Kennedy, Robbie Gordon, and Home Run Derby Champ Grant Heyman all making appearances.
The Boulders jump right back into league action on Thursday, traveling to open a four-game series against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles.
