Frontenacs prevail in high-scoring affair

Kingston Frontenacs and their 2-game win streak face the first place Western Division Windsor Spitfires this afternoon. Kingston spreads the scoring around and Windsor's top line does the scoring.

First Period, Dickson is called at 2:34 for Roughing. The Spitfires open the scoring just under 6 minutes in the game Lain McPhee from McGillis and Soso). Less than a minute later the scoring line of Lomas and Mannino feed Cal O'Reilly beating Dayne Davis. Frontenacs' Chris Stewart (2) wacks in a bouncing puck from Emmerton and Stephenson past Spitfires rookie goalie Kyle Knechtel at 08:34. Griffith is penalized for Interference at 9:21. 11:48, Dixon is called for Tripping. At 14:17 O'Reilly and Mannino assist for David Lomas and his 12th goal of the season. Kingston rounds out the scoring this period at 17:19 with Hughes setting up Tony Rizzi (6). Windsor leads 3 - 2.

Second Period, Giallonardo 6:13 for Roughing. Hughes passes to Tony Rizzi (7) tying the game at 10:18. The Frontenacs go on to score 3-unanswered goals this period. Pronk and Petrow feed Radek Smolenak (8) at 13:07. Cross Checking handed to Bolt at 14:18. Todd Griffith (10) playing an outstanding game scores short-handed with 5-minutes left in the period assisted by Raftis and Petrow. 16:56 penalties to Petrow for Checking from Behind and Soso replies for Roughing. Shutron finds Radek Smolenak (9) for his second of the game at 17:53. Just over a minute remaining in the period Suda is served a 10-Minute Misconduct while Todd is issued Slashing and Unsportsmanlike Conduct for double-minors and a 10-Minute Misconduct. Windsor will start the 3rd period shorthanded. Kingston is ahead 6 - 3.

Third Period, Frontenacs powerplay Chris Petrow (3) scores his first Kingston goal and his 3rd of the season assisted by Kotsopoulos and Griffith at 01:22. 7-minutes in Spitfires' Ryan Garlock headfakes Davis with a set-up from McPhee and Dickson. Todd Griffith (11) goes in all alone and scores at 7:52 for a 7 - 4 Frontenacs lead. Windsor goalie Brad Topping replaces Knechtel who faced 28 shots after allowing the Frontenacs' 7th goal. Tom Mannino scored back-to-back goals for the Spitfires within three minutes, 11:42 asisted by Lomas and unassisted with 6-minutes remaining in the period. Frontenacs powerline lead by Captain Anthony Stewart takes a pass from Griffith and feeds Evan Kotsopoulos (8) for an easy goal at 17:16. Windsor Head Coach Mike Kelly pulls Topping for 6-attackers. Shots 21 to 10 in this period. Final Kingston 9 - Windsor 6.

Frontenacs' Dayne Davis faced 39 shots and 38 combined for Windsor.

Attendance at the Kingston Memorial Centre just 1,863.

Frontenacs had 20-players dressed. Michael Kolarz was in the lineup with an ankle injury. Not dressed were Adam Nemeth with a shoulder injury from October 30th in Belleville, Danny Revelle with a knee injury from October 14th in Windsor, and Dan Dempsey.

Kingston Frontenacs next home game is this Friday, November 12th Vs Saginaw 7:30PM. Saturday 13th in Barrie 7:30PM, then back home Sunday afternoon 2:00PM Vs Ottawa.
