COPRUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - Frisco surrendered five home runs and lost 9-4 to the Corpus Christi Hooks at Whataburger Field on Friday night. Domingo Santana tore up the RoughRiders pitching staff for three home runs and five RBI.

The RoughRiders struck first. Hanser Alberto singled, stole a base, reached third on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jared Hoying to make it 1-0 RoughRiders.

That was the only time Frisco led. RoughRiders starter Kevin Pucetas allowed three home runs, and two of them came in the first inning. Jiovanni Mier and Santana belted solo shots to give Corpus Christi a 2-1 advantage. Before Pucetas was done for the night, it was 5-1 Hooks, as they tallied runs in the second, third and fifth innings, which included Santana's second long ball of the evening.

Teodoro Martinez brought Frisco within one in the seventh inning. After Zach Zaneski came home on a sacrifice fly from Odubel Herrea to make it 5-2, Martinez swatted a two-run blast, his first homer of the year, to make it 5-4.

Corpus Christi immediately widened the gap. Arlett Mavare allowed a leadoff home run to Zach Johnson to make it a two run game again. After a two-out single to Rene Garcia and a walk to George Springer, Frisco went back to the bullpen to get Roman Mendez to face Santana. He smashed his third homer of the night, this time a three-run blast, to put the game out of reach at 9-4.

Frisco went hitless in the final two frames. Pucetas (4-3) took the loss, while Doran (5-0) stayed perfect on the year, getting the win in relief.

The RoughRiders return to action Saturday night in Corpus Christi. Frisco's Carlos Pimtentel (3-1, 3.00) matches up against David Martinez (4-0, 0.87 ERA). Fans can tune in to the play-by-play broadcast on www.RidersBaseball.com beginning at 6:40.

Frisco will return to Dr Pepper Ballpark Monday, May 13 at 7 p.m. when they host Midland. For information on tickets to see the RoughRiders in 2013, please call (972) 731-9200, email info@ridersbaseball.com or visit www.ridersbaseball.com.
