Frisco RoughRiders News Release
The RoughRiders take game one over Northwest Arkansas thanks to a two run homer by Chad Tracy
Frisco took game one over the Naturals with a 3-2 victory Saturday night as the âRiders have now won nine of 10 games played on Saturday at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Chad Tracy had the big hit for Frisco with a two-run homer in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie.
The Naturals got on the board first in the fifth on a sacrifice fly to score Ovandy Suero who earlier doubled. However, the RoughRiders answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single from Julio Borbon, scoring Thomas Berkery who earlier walked to tie the score at one. In the following frame, Dustin Majewski led off the inning with a single and Tracy hit his second bomb of the season as a âRider to put Frisco up 3-1. NW Arkansas would attempt a comeback by adding a run in the ninth, but couldn't tie it up as Frisco went on to the 3-2 win.
Michael Schlact looked strong in his return from the disabled list going five innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out a pair. Brandon Puffer (7-0) remains undefeated in relief, pitching two scoreless innings. Andrew Laughter allowed a run in the ninth, but preserved the win for his team-best ninth save.
Julio Borbon led the Frisco offense with two hits and an RBI, but Tracy had the big hit with his second homer of the season.
The âRiders and Naturals will meet for game two Sunday night at 6 p.m. as Jared Hyatt (2-3, 4.20) will square off against RHP Julio Pimentel (6-10, 5.58) for Northwest Arkansas.
