
Frias' Three-Hit Night Not Enough for Flock

(Central Islip, N.Y.) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 7-2 on Wednesday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.
A second inning leadoff solo home run to right-center field by Nellie Rodriguez off Ducks starter Brendan Feldmann gave York a 1-0 lead. A sacrifice fly to left off the bat of James Harris in the third made it 2-0 Revs. Vladimir Frias got the Ducks on the scoreboard in the fourth with an RBI single through the right side off Revolution starter Jhoendri Herrera.
The Revolution got their two-run lead back in the sixth on a two-out solo homer to left by Melky Mesa. Osmy Gregorio's RBI single up the middle in the eighth made it 4-1. Steve Lombardozzi closed the gap to 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single to right, but a three-run homer to left by Harris in the ninth put the game out of reach.
Herrera (2-1) earned the win, tossing five and one-third innings of one-run ball, allowing six hits and five walks with two strikeouts. Feldmann (4-3) took the loss, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks over six innings with five strikeouts. Fuller earned his 18th save after recording the final four outs.
Frias led the Flock offensively with three hits, an RBI and a run. Lombardozzi added two hits, an RBI and a walk.
The Ducks and Revolution wrap up their three-game set on Thursday night. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Fairfield Properties Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). The first 1,500 kids 12 and under will receive Back to School Lunch Boxes, courtesy of SCOPE Education Services. It's also a Thirsty Thursday, and fans will be able to enjoy an exclusive drink special during the game. Right-hander Joe Iorio (8-2, 4.97) toes the rubber for the Ducks against Revolution righty Duke von Schamann (4-6, 5.84).
