Fresno Goalkeeper CJ Cochran Selected to USL Team of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Goalkeeper CJ Cochran was selected to the USL Championship Team of the Week following his stalwart performance in Fresno's 2-1 victory over New Mexico, the league announced Tuesday.

Cochran recorded seven saves against New Mexico to help Fresno extend its winning to a club-record four consecutive matches. He was also named Fresno's El Mexicano Man of the Match for his performance, the second time in three games he has earned the honor.

This is Cochran's second TOTW award this season and third of his USL career. He received the honor in Week 3 of the regular season when he made seven saves in our home opener against Reno 1868 FC. He also becomes the fourth Fresno FC player in the last five weeks to be selected by the league.

The other Foxes who have been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week in 2019 are: left back Alex Cooper (Week 1), midfielder Arun Basuljevic (Week 2), forward Christian Chaney (Week 9), midfielder Jackson (Week 10), forward Qudus Lawal (Week 12), Jemal Johnson (Weeks 6, 15 and 16), and Elijah Martin (Week 18).

Fresno FC (9-2-7, 34 points) is in second place in the USL's Western Conference, and hosts fifth-place Portland Timbers 2 this Saturday, July 20 at Chukchansi Park. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the match are available for purchase at FresnoFC.com and by calling 559-320-2525.
