Fresno Falcons Announce Plans for Save Mart Center Final

Fresno, CA..The Kelly Cup Playoff bound Fresno Falcons have announced plans for a Fan Appreciation Night Celebration to take place Tuesday, April 1 at 7pm when the Falcons battle their division rivals the Stockton Thunder. The Fresno Falcons are completing their fifth season of ECHL hockey action at the Save Mart Center and Tuesday will be the final regular season Falcons home game to be played on the Fresno State campus. The Falcons will open the 2008-2009 ECHL season at Selland Arena in downtown Fresno.

Tuesday is Fan Appreciation Night with the first 2000 fans receiving free Falcons trading cards courtesy of the U.S. Army and Carl's Jr. Tuesday is the final Carl's Jr. Two for Tuesday of the season. Fans may stop by Carl's Jr. and pick up a 2 for 1 Falcons ticket offer for this game. Tuesday will also feature the Fresno Falcons Army Strong Pushup Challenge Finals. The top three men and women who have participated in the eight week contest will compete at center ice during the first intermission of Tuesday's game. The finalist who completes the most pushups in sixty seconds will be declared the Fresno Falcons/Army Strong Pushup Challenge champion and will win a brand new paratrooper mountain bike. The Falcons will also be giving away prizes throughout the game.

In preparation for the Save Mart Center hockey finale the Falcons will play three home games this weekend. Friday is the invasion of the Raider Nation, Saturday is Girl Scouts at the Rink, Sunday is the March of Dimes March for Babies at the Rink!

Friday the Falcons host the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30pm on Raiders at the Rink Night. Oakland Raider linebacker and former Fresno State Bulldog Sam Williams will sign free autographs at 6:30pm on the concourse and drop the ceremonial first puck. This game will also feature a special performance by the Raiderettes and a first intermission Raiders Rap contest presented by B-95. Oakland Raiders ticket executives will be at the game to greet fans and discuss ticket options for the 2008 Oakland Raiders season. The Falcons will be hosting the Second Annual Girl Scouts at the Rink game on Saturday presented by Eye Q Vision Care when they battle the Idaho Steelheads at 7:30pm. This game will be a celebration of the Girl Scouts Golden Valley Council. The first 2000 fans at Saturday's game will receive a free # 2 Matt O'Dette Bobblehead Doll courtesy of Eye Q. The Falcons will also be wearing their black Eye Q/Girl Scout Jerseys to be auctioned off after the game to benefit the Girl Scouts. The Falcons will be honoring the Girl Scouts on Saturday by recognizing top Girl Scout Cookie Seller Becky Kremer of Troop 437 from Coarsegold. Becky sold 1,398 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. Saturday's game will also feature the presentation of Flags by Troop 182 from Visalia and Troop 697 from Fresno. The National Anthem will be performed by Girl Scout Jessica Vance. The Girl Scouts set yet another sales record by selling more than 400,000 boxes of cookies this year. Girl Scout cookies will be on sale at the game this Saturday.

Sunday the Falcons battle the Victoria Salmon Kings at 5pm. This game is a Comcast Cable Family game and all kids tickets are only $ 7.00. This game is being celebrated as "March for Babies at the Rink", A Celebration of the March of Dimes/March for Babies Spring Walk. Several hundred walkers for the March for Babies Walk will be attending Sunday's game to celebrate the upcoming Fresno walk. Fans attending the game can learn more about participating in the March for Babies Walk by stopping by the March of Dimes booth on the concourse.
