Cape Cod Frenzy News Release
Duluth, GA â John Humphrey scored 25 fourth quarter points to help the Boston Frenzy outlast the Reigning Knights of Georgia 118-111.
"We played a great first half," said Frenzy Head Coach Joe Bryant. "We kept our turnovers down and made some great decisions. I was really happy about the whole team effort."
The Frenzy shot out of the gate with a 60 point first half, leading Georgia by eight at the break. The Reigning Knights cut the lead to just four after three quarters, but 21 of 30 from the free throw line helped secure the Frenzy's third win of the season.
"This was a 180 degree turn from our last road game," said Bryant. "We made some sloppy plays in the second half, but we hit our free throws and made the plays when we needed to."
Humphrey led the Frenzy with a team record 38 points and got a helping hand from the Frenzy's Boston based duo of Shannon Crooks and Stacey Massiah. Crooks scored 17 points with 11 assists while Massiah scored 21 in his first start of the season going 10 of 12 from the floor.
The win also capped off a special night for Dennis Chism. The backup point guard played in front of friends and family from the Atlanta area. Chism finished with 11 points and three assists in front of the friendly road crowd.
The Frenzy (3-4) continue their December road trip with an early morning bus ride to Nashville, Tennessee where they will take on the Nashville Rhythm. Led by former Celtic Dontae Jones, the Rhythm are second in the East at 7-2. "This is the toughest part of the pro game," Bryant said. "Going back to back on the road against this level of player will really be a challenge for our guys."
