DES MOINES - In the final tune-up before the April 2 nationally televised AFL season opener against the Chicago Rush, the Iowa Barnstormers today reminded fans that the team will host the Tulsa Talons in a pre-season scrimmage, with free admission, at Veterans Auditorium on Wednesday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m.

Doors to the public will open at 6:15 p.m. with the on-field scrimmage to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Barnstormers Head Coach John Gregory said he is eager to introduce many of the Barnstormers' off-season acquisitions to Iowa's passionate fan base, "There are a lot of new faces in training camp, many with significant professional football experience, so I know Barnstormers fans are in for a treat. Wednesday's scrimmage is the first opportunity for our fans to see these players in action."

The pre-season scrimmage will also be the only opportunity for Barnstormers fans to see Tulsa, who are coached by Iowa-native Mitch Allner, as the Talons are not on Iowa's 16-game regular season AFL schedule.

John Pettit, Iowa's General Manager, said the free admission to the scrimmage is designed to encourage both new and old fans to come check out the 2010 Barnstormers. "We encourage fans and families to come out to Vets, watch a little football, and get ready for the team's return to the Arena Football League," said Pettit, noting that the team will also be offering discounted Barnstormers merchandise at the March 24 scrimmage.

Pettit also indicated that Barnstormers season ticket holders will be able to pick-up their 2010 season tickets at the scrimmage.

Individual game tickets are currently on sale to the Barnstormers 8-game 2010 home schedule, including four games nationally televised by the NFL Network. Tickets start at $12 and can be ordered by calling 515.633.2255 or by visiting www.theiowabarnstormers.com.
