Frater's winner earns United their first road win
March 29, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
New Mexico United News Release
(TACOMA, WA) For the first time in New Mexico United history, the team trailed. In the 3rd minute of a road game against Tacoma Defiance, Azriel Gonzales found the net for Tacoma, and put the visitors on their back heel.
30 plus minutes of a midfield stalemate would ensue, and United fans held their breath, until Ryan Williams equalized in 37th minute. 40 minutes later, Kevaughn Frater would put United ahead, for good. Santi Moar's goal streak ends at 3 games, but he did notch the assist on the Frater winner, and contributed 5 key passes to the attack
United now sits in 2nd place in the USL Championship Western Conference standings. Their next match is next Saturday, April 6, against Rio Grande Valley FC. David Estrada was influential throughout the match. He recorded three key passes, won three tackles and went 7 of 8 in duels.
MAN OF THE MATCH:
Kevaughn Frater flexed, and there's no doubt that he's a premier striker in the USL Championship. His third goal of the season ultimately led to NM United earning three more points in their inaugural campaign.
