
Franco added from Danville, Pike to Temporary Inactive List

PEARL, MS - Mississippi Braves LHP Tyler Pike has been placed on the temporary inactive list, and RHP Enderson Franco has been transferred to Mississippi from Rookie-Danville.
Pike, 24, has not pitched in 2018, and is coming off of his first season in the Atlanta organization, splitting time between High-A Florida and Mississippi, combining to go 5-11 with a 3.43 ERA (55 ER/144.1 IP) and 154 strikeouts. Pike ended the 2017 season in the top 10 among Braves farmhands (min. 75.0 IP) in strikeouts (2nd, 154), innings pitched (4th, 144.1) and starters' ERA (9th, 3.43). He was named a Florida State League Mid-Season All-Star after going 5-2 with a 2.20 ERA in 12 starts over the season's first "half". The Sebring, FL native opened the season with Florida before transferring to Mississippi on June 11, 2017.
Pike was acquired by the Braves as the player to be named later from the Seattle Mariners on December 9, 2016, completing a trade in which Atlanta received OF Alex Jackson from Seattle in exchange for RHP Rob Whalen and RHP Max Povse on November 28, 2016.
Franco, 25, appeared between three levels of the Braves system in 2017, combining to go 6-6 with a 3.86 ERA (52ER/121.1 IP) between Rome (A), Gwinnett (AAA) and Florida (A+). Franco made two relief appearances with Rome before transferring to Gwinnett on April 22. Franco made two starts with the G-Braves before being assigned to Florida on May 7 and making 19 starts over the remainder of the season. His 106.2 innings with Florida paced the FireFrogs staff, and his 121.1 combined innings were 10th most among Braves farmhands
The Mississippi roster has 25 active players, four disabled and one temporary inactive.
