Francina Walker to Serve as Isotopes Public Address Announcer
April 3, 2017 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
The Albuquerque Isotopes are pleased to announce Francina Walker, the wife of the late Stu Walker, will serve as the main public address announcer at Isotopes Park for the 2017 season.
The 2016 campaign saw rotating public address announcers throughout the season. Francina was one of those announcers who took over the PA for a game late in the 2016 season. "After hearing Francina's voice emanate throughout the ballpark and after receiving overwhelming positive feedback from the fans, we knew she was the right person for the job," said Isotopes General Manager John Traub.
Francina's late husband, Stu, was the voice of Isotopes Park until he passed away from cancer in November of 2015. He manned the public address system since the Isotopes inaugural season in 2003 and was posthumously inducted into the Albuquerque Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016.
"Stu was an exceptional man and a loyal employee. He and his voice have truly been missed around the ballpark," said Isotopes General Manager John Traub. "It is an honor to have Francina sit in his seat and share her talent with all those who visit Isotopes Park."
