Danbury Hat Tricks News Release
WATERTOWN, NY - The Danbury Hat Tricks (26-13-3, 77 pts) fell 6-3 to the Watertown Wolves (29-7-1, 86 pts) on Friday night.
Watertown jumped out to a 2-0 lead with two goals by FPHL-veteran Ahmed Mahfouz. The Hat Tricks found an answer with Cory Anderson's 24th goal of the season at 16:05 of the first.
At the end of a back-and-forth first, Watertown added a third goal with 2:35 left in the period.
Danbury scored the only goal of the second period when Brett Jackson potted his first of two on the night from Dmitry Kuznetsov and Steve Brown.
The Wolves seized control in the third period, however, scoring three-unanswered goals in the final period, including Mahfouz's third goal of the night.
In the 12th game of the season between the two sides, the physicality was evident. In the final 22 minutes of the game, there were three roughing minors and two fights.
The two teams return to Danbury on Saturday where the Hat Tricks are 18-3-0 this season.
