Fourth Ranked Prospect Joins Mavs

Adelanto, Ca - On Saturday, May 8 the Milwaukee Brewers activated Manny Parra from the Mavericks disabled list and added him to the active roster.

Baseball America ranks the left-handed pitcher Parra as the 4th ranked prospect in the talent filled Milwaukee Brewers farm system and 69th in the nation.

Parra joins the Mavs pitching staff after spending the 2003 season in Low A Beloit. As a Snapper, Parra posted an 11-2 record with a 2.73 ERA in 23 starts. In 139 innings worked, Parra struck out 117 while only walking 24 batters.

Parra will make his first appearance in a Mavericks uniform on Saturday night as he makes the start for Mavs against the Lancaster JetHawks in Lancaster.

The Mavericks are on the road for seven games and will return home on May 14 for a six game homestand. Saturday, May 15 is Soutar's Jersey Shirt Giveaway.
