Fourth Quarter Comeback Gives Express 2-0 Lead

(WINDSOR, ON) A late push thrusted the Windsor Express to a 107-93 victory over the Mississauga Power on Tuesday night at the WFCU Centre.

Windsor holds serve and is now up 2-0 in this best of five conference semifinal.

The Express took control early in the game, leading all the way through the first quarter, closing with a 24-21 advantage.

It was Mississauga's turn in the second, tying the game on the first shot of the frame and building a lead as large as 10 points before heading into the locker room leading Windsor 48-40.

The Express chipped away throughout the third quarter, taking the lead back at 66-64 when Tony Bennett nailed a three pointer with 1:44 left.

Mississauga's Omar Strong answered with a three of his own a minute later to knot the game at 69-69 before two Paul Cooper free throws put the Power up 71-70 heading to the fourth.

From there, Windsor had their best quarter of the game, taking it to Mississauga 37-22 to close out the victory.

Quinnel Brown dropped a game-high 28 points, while Chris Commons grabbed 24 points of his own.

For the second game in a row, Ryan Anderson (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Bennett (22 points, 11 rebounds) each finished with double doubles.

Windsor looks for a series sweep this Thursday, March 12th at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.

Game time is at 7:30 pm.

The Express will be hosting a viewing party at Buffalo Wild Wings at Devonshire Mall on Thursday night for Game 3 of the series.
