Fourth of July Marks Third-Largest Crowd in RoughRiders History

FRISCO, TEXAS - The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, set another attendance record on Saturday, July 4, as 11,876 fans celebrated Independence Day at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Tonight's attendance is the largest ever for the club on Fourth of the July and the third-highest overall in franchise history. The top three crowds have come in the last 26 home dates. The current record crowd for a RoughRiders game at Dr Pepper Ballpark is 11,927, which was set on June 12, 2015.
Five of the seven largest crowds in franchise history have come this season, specifically within the last ten weeks and 30 home dates. Tickets were completely sold out for Saturday's game for every stadium section, hospitality area, suite, grass berm and standing room location.
The Riders once again lead all Double-A franchises in attendance, a feat the club has accomplished each season in the past decade.
"There is no better way to celebrate America's birthday than with baseball and fireworks, and we are thrilled with the amazing support shown once again by our fans," said RoughRiders CEO and General Partner Chuck Greenberg. "When we embarked on making sure that the 2015 season was going to be a special one in Frisco, we believed that our fans would love the new experience at Dr Pepper Ballpark. With the top three attendance figures in franchise history coming this season, we have been able to deliver on that goal. The RoughRiders begin a three game set against the Arkansas Travelers (Los Angeles Angels) on Sunday, July 5. The first 2,000 fans will take home a free Swinging Teddy Roosevelt Bobblehead and can enjoy a postgame fireworks show.
