FRISCO, TEXAS (July 4, 2015) - The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, will host "Keeper of the Game" honorees Tyler Sampson and Timothy Ruffino on July 5 at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The two eighth graders both overcome a physical disability to shine both on and off the baseball diamond.

The honorees will participate in a special first pitch ceremony prior to the 6:05 p.m. game against the Arkansas Travelers on Sunday. The inspirational athletes will also be given a special VIP tour of Dr Pepper Ballpark.

Tyler Sampson was born with only part of his right arm and just finished his eighth grade year at Griffin Middle School in Frisco, Texas. He is also a two-sport athlete, playing both football and baseball at GMS. Tyler will be attending Lone Star High School, where he plans to pitch for the Rangers baseball team.

Tyler pitches and also plays first base and outfield for the ProSource 14UAAA Athletics, who are coached by Chris Watkins. The Athletics will be competing in the USSSA 14U World Series in Colorado Springs, Colorado this summer. He is a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Frisco RoughRiders.

Timothy Ruffino excels on the baseball field with no right hand. The Louisiana native recently pitched his last game at Lake Castle Middle School in Madisonville, Louisiana. Timmy is not only a star pitcher and first baseman, he is on the 8th grade honor roll. He has been named to the Louisiana All State team the past three years and has won the Home Run Derby for his age group twice in the past three years. Timmy played in the 12-and-under Disney International World Series. He hit a home run against Venezuela and pitched a complete-game victory in the Gold Medal Game.

Keeper of The Game will have a booth set up at the top of Section 103 at Dr Pepper Ballpark on July 5 where fans can meet Sampson and Ruffino during the fifth and sixth innings, purchase merchandise and learn more about the Keeper of the Game organization. Numerous silent auction items will also be available, such as signed items from Jim Abbott, Josh Hamilton, Joey Gallo, Jorge Alfaro, Andrew Faulkner, Nomar Mazara and Nick Williams.
