Montreal Alouettes Vice President, General Manager and Head Coach Jim Popp announced today the signing of four Alouettes prospects to multi-year contracts.

Receiver Braden Smith, defensive end Chris Van Zeyl, tackle Darryl Conrad and centre Sean Brown have all signed and are expected at training camp in St. Jean sur Richelieu.

Darryl Conrad (6'5'', 285 lbs.) played four seasons with the Manitoba Bisons, where he was named to the 2004 and 2005 Academic All-Canadian teams. Picked by the Alouettes in the second round of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft, Conrad also has experience on the defensive line.

Chris Van Zeyl (6'6'', 275 lbs.) played at defensive end with the McMaster Marauders from 2002 through 2006. Picked by the Alouettes in the third round of the 2007 draft, he had 15 tackles in 2006, adding two sacks and a forced fumble.

Braden Smith (6'5'', 205 lbs.) was drafted in the sixth round by the Alouettes, following a successful 2006 campaign as a wide receiver with the UBC Thunderbirds. He caught 26 passes for 374 yards in six games last season on top of his duties as a punt returner. He was a quarterback before switching to receiver at UBC.

Sean Brown (6'4'', 275 lbs.) joins the Alouettes following four seasons with the Alberta Golden Bears. The 22-year-old centre was named to a 2005 Canada West All-Star and played in the East-West Bowl. He was protected by the Alouettes following the 2007 draft.
