Washington Spirit News Release
Washington, D.C. - Four Washington Spirit players have been called up to compete with the U.S. Women's National Team in next month's friendlies against Germany, U.S. Soccer announced today.
Making the call-up list are forward Ashley Hatch, forward Trinity Rodman, midfielder Ashley Sanchez and midfielder Andi Sullivan. With four goals and one assist in 14 career appearances with the USWNT, Hatch will aim to find the back of the net for the first time since April. Fresh off her nomination for the 2022 Ballon d'Or Féminin, Rodman will gain more international experience in preparation for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup while Sanchez will look to keep up her national team impact and improve upon her three goals and three assists in 16 appearances. Spirit captain Andi Sullivan will also prepare to add to her 35 international caps, the most of this group.
Across all 2022 NWSL contests, the Spirit's four November call-ups combined for 30 goals and eight assists in 95 total appearances for the club. Hatch nearly matched her 2021 Golden Boot-winning tally of ten goals during the 2022 regular season as she scored nine times in 18 matches while reigning Rookie of the Year Rodman notched four goals of her own and assisted on another two in her 18 regular season matches played. Sanchez finished tied for third-most assists in the league this season as well with five.
The USWNT will take on Germany in two friendly competitions in mid-November. The first of the two will take place on Thursday, November 10 at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Heading up the east coast, the two sides will face off again on Sunday, November 13 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. The two matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 5 p.m. kickoffs, respectively.
Fans can secure their tickets to all of the Spirit's 2023 home matches with a Full 90 membership. Available here, the season ticket membership grants fans access to priority seating, an exclusive gift from the Spirit, access to special events throughout the season and more.
