SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC today announced that four players have been called into national team duty for the upcoming FIFA international break. Cristian Roldan (United States), Román Torres (Panama), Gustav Svensson (Sweden) and Jordy Delem (Martinique) are all set to depart following Sunday's match at FC Dallas (2:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, Univision-Seattle, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM) and represent their nations in the upcoming week.
Roldan is one of 22 players called into the U.S. Men's National Team for an upcoming friendly against Paraguay on March 27 in Cary, North Carolina (4:30 p.m. PT / FS1, UniMas, UDN). The University of Washington product has two career international caps, but has been a regular call-up to the USMNT since last year, having most recently started a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 28 at the conclusion of January Camp.
Torres joins Panama for a pair of European-based friendlies in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, beginning with a matchup against Denmark on March 22 at Brondby Stadium. Los Canaleros then travel to Lucerne, Switzerland for a matchup against the Swiss National Team on March 27.
Svensson receives a call-up to Sweden, another World Cup-bound squad, for a pair of friendlies across the Atlantic. Sweden first faces Chile in a home fixture on March 24 at Friends Arena in Solna, then travels to take on Romania on March 27 in Craiova.
Delem joins the Martinique National Team for a home friendly against Trinidad & Tobago on March 24. The 25-year-old has 35 caps for Les Matinino, including every minute of all three group stage matches at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
After Sunday's match, Seattle has a bye week due to the FIFA international break, with the club's next match set for Saturday, March 31 against the Montreal Impact on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field (7:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
