New Jersey Pride News Release

BOSTON - When the fifth installment of the Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game commences on July 6 at Boston's Nickerson Field, seven Pride players will step on the field in the interesting format of MLL All-Stars versus the 2006 United States National Team.

New Jersey midfielders Kyle Harrison and A.J. Haugen will join attackman Scott Urick wearing the red, white and blue of Team USA, and squaring off against them on the MLL All-Star team will be middies Andy Corno and Adam Doneger, defenseman Ryan McClay and attackman Jesse Hubbard.

"This is going to be one of the most exciting All-Star games we've had that's for sure,'' said Pride General Manager Trey Reeder. "The Pride are very well represented in this game and it's going to be very fun to watch.''

Harrison, Haugen and Urick were chosen last summer when the United States team was picked after a grueling stretch of tryouts. The MLL All-Star team was announced today.

McClay is appearing in his second-straight All-Star game in his four seasons in Major League Lacrosse, and is coming off an impressive first four games in which he recently held the 2006 Tewaaraton Trophy winner, Matt Ward, of Baltimore to just two goals.

Corno has won an impressive 72-of-125 face-offs for the Pride, a percentage of .576, while also scoring one goal, assisting on another and picking up 42 ground balls. Doneger is second on the team in goals through four games with 10, including a pair of 2-pointers. After a single tally in a Week 1 win over Boston, Doneger had hat tricks in the team's last three games, including a Bug Light Game MVP Performance in a Week 2 win over Rochester.

Hubbard, Major League Lacrosse's second-leading scorer all time with 198 career goals, has five tallies and nine assists on the season, and has been more of a feeder this season with teams trying to limit his potent scoring ability.

"It's going to be fun watching our guys play against each other,'' Reeder said. "I am sure it's going to be a lot of fun for them, and it's going to be a great tune up for the World Games this summer.''

Urick leads all of Major League Lacrosse so far this season with 19 points through four games (14 g 5a), while Haugen has nine goals and four assists and Harrison has four goals and seven assists. Harrison is coming off a career game against Baltimore in which he scored five points on four assists and one goal.

Though this is the sixth season of Major League Lacrosse, no All-Star game was played in 2004, thus making this the fifth installment of the game. In 2005, Pride midfielder Walid Hajj scored an overtime goal to give the Young Guns an impressive win.
