Four players sign AHL deals

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks have signed goaltender Frederic Cassivi and defensemen Andrew Canzanello, Ian Forbes and Kurtis Foster to American Hockey League contracts for the 2004-05 season.

Cassivi, 29, appeared in 34 games with Chicago of the AHL last season, going 15-12-5 with a 2.57 goals-against average, one shutout and .920 save percentage.

Canzanello, 22, had five goals and 21 assists with 57 penalty minutes in 39 games for Colorado College last season.

Forbes, 24, had one goal and seven assists with 186 penalty minutes in 58 games with Florida of the ECHL last season.

Foster, 22, recorded 11 goals and 19 assists with 95 penalty minutes in 67 games with Chicago of the AHL and had one assist in three NHL games with Atlanta last season. He was named the recipient of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award as the American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year.

The Mighty Ducks also invited defenseman Chris Bogas to training camp as a non-roster player.

Bogas, 27, had three goals and four assist with 36 penalty minutes in 23 games with Appiano in Italy last season.

The Mighty Ducks open training camp at 10:00 a.m. September 29 at Cincinnati Gardens.
