The United States Hockey League has announced the 40 man rosters for the 2006 Prospects/All-Star Game held at the Tyson Events Center on February 7, 2006 in Sioux City, IA.

Tony Lucia, Nick Schaus, Matt Schepke and Ryan Turek will be representing the Omaha Lancers in the Western Conference.

Head Coach Mike Hastings was pleased with the selections for his team. "This group has been the foundation to our team throughout the first-half of the season, on and off the rink. The entire Lancers family is very proud and happy for these deserving all-star selections."

The Prospects/All-Star Game roster is selected by the USHL in conjunction with the NHL's Central Scouting service. The roster is then split into two teams: Eastern Conference and Western Conference. In years past the two teams were split into Team USHL and Team World. Team WORLD won last year's event 5-3, scoring the game winner was Brock Bradford of the Omaha Lancers, also named the games Most Valuable Player. Bradford now plays for Boston College of the Hockey East (HE).

"This will be an outstanding event for an outstanding community. We are eager to host the All-Star Game and showcase the talents of some of the finest young hockey players in North America" says President of the Sioux City Musketeers Jim Kronschnabel. "There will be a hockey skills challenge which will be free to the public on Tuesday afternoon, prior to the game. This event will feature an NHL-like series of contests including shooting, skating, and goaltending competitions."

Also in attendance will be the Lord Stanley's Cup, the Stanley Cup is awarded annually to the National Hockey League play-off champion. The first NHL winner of the Cup was the Ottawa Senators in 1927 and is the oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America today. The quest for this trophy has become one of the world's most prestigious sporting competitions.

The USHL estimates that approximately 20 future NHL Draft picks will be participating in this game.

The game is sponsored by: The Hockey Company, Royal Financial Group, JR Hockey News, Let's Play Hockey, Itech Hockey and Mercury Graphics.
