Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK - Shaking off another tough road trip, the Round Rock Express belted out a season-high four home runs and coasted to a 5-0 win over Tacoma (Seattle Mariners) at The Dell Diamond on Tuesday.

Mark Saccomanno, Barry Wesson and Brooks Conrad chipped in solo shots and Cody Ransom made his third homer of the season a three-run shot as part of Round Rock's 11-hit barrage. Left-hander Mark McLemore allowed just one hit on six strikeouts over four innings in the start and Stephen Randolph picked up win number three, working three hitless innings. Paul Estrada closed out the one-hit victory by fanning two over the final six outs.

The Express limped home late Monday night after completing a 3-5 road trip in which the team failed to win a road series for the fourth consecutive time. During the swing through New Orleans and Nashville, Round Rock slipped to 14-18, sinking to the bottom of the Pacific Coast League American Southern Division.

On Tuesday, the Express jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Saccomanno and Wesson launched back-to-back shots to deep left field off Rainiers starter Jorge Campillo (2-4) in the third inning. That lead jumped to four in the fourth when Danny Klassen tripled to center and Ransom lifted his shot over wall in left-centerfield.

Conrad, who also cranked out his 10th doubled, followed with his seventh home run in the eighth.

The two teams meet again at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday. The game can be heard on 1530 AM or by logging on to www.rrexpress.com. Gates open at 10:30 a.m., and because of Wednesday's early start time, all media are asked to conduct interviews between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
